FRESH CHESTNUT VARIETY: BOUCHE DE BETIZAC

Bouche de Betizac: is a chestnut variety developed at the Malemort-sur-Corrèz station near Brive.

It is a controlled hybrid between Castanea sativa and Castanea crenata.

This variety produces large or very large chestnuts, good roasted and perfect for marron glacé.

It is very productive (3 tonnes per hectare on average).

Its fruit is light brown red, quickly becoming brown, dark brown, dull.

It has been present in our lands since 2008.
